Question by joan: Are the processes of transcription or translation always proofread?
In transcription and translation for protein synthesis, I know that there are mutations and errors. I also know that RNA polymerase does not proofread, but I was wondering if anything proofread or attempted to repair the process?

Yes you cells have a natural proofreading feature. I believe that DNA polymerase has it and this is what accounts for the very very few errors considering how many codons are read
