Question by Mr.Danny =D I Love you!: How do you make a footnote in your novel for a phrase translation?
It’s a Scottish phrase “It would be a pity to hae spoilt twa houses wi’ them.”It is spoken when II disagreeable populate get married to each other. My character says it in his dialogue so I need to put the translation as a footnote. How do I do this? What punctuation do I use?I’ve never had to use footnotes before.Thank you=D

Use google. There’s a different format for different things. Authors try to avoid using footnotes. Look up a book that uses them and use that as an example.Good luck
