Question by tiffzilla: Should I hire an interpreter for my job interview?
I’m hearing impaired and I’ve been wondering– if I got a job interview and the person that was going to interview me for the position didn’t know about my disability. Should I hire an interpreter? Or should I bring a notepad and pen to write to him, explaining to him about my disability and prove him that I don’t need anyone’s assistance in order to communicate?

I sort of can’t afford an interpreter anyway.

It depends how well you usually communicate will hearing people. Is it difficult, or downright impossible? If you think you can communicate to the interviewer what you need to communicate without an interpreter, then go for it.
