Question by Woomblebat: What do the numbers mean in a phonetic translation of arabic to english?
For example, I asked for a translation of a nasheed and someone found it. Only I have not idea how to enounce stuff like “da3” “3anka” and “3ad”. Is this some enciphering error or do they stand for sure sounds not happened in our alphabet?

The numbers written in phonetics of Arabic in English represent letters (sounds) which do not exist in English language, so we replace them by numbers.Ex: Number 3 represents letter ع which is a letter/sound which doesn’t be in English
