Question by Allyson L: What is a day in the life of a translator/interpreter like?
I currently translate for a company but only as a secretary. I know I would make more as an interpreter or translator. Can anyone tell me what an average day is like for them? What do you do? How much of your time is in front of a computer? What do professional in-house interpreters do when they are not interpreting?

I work for a company too as a full time translator. I translate documents from English into Arabic on a daily basis. Approximately, I translate around 5 pages a day. That’s about 1500 words (average estimation).

I work basically on a PC. It’s kinda boring. However, I am very passionate about translation.

I used to do some interpretation for my foreign friends. It was fun, for sure.
