Question by Bestselling Author: When leaders of nations talk on the phone, how do they do it? Is there an interpreter on each end?
Imagine the US President talking to the Russian or Japanese Prime Minister or the German Chancellor. I mean, not every leader speaks English very well, and not all US Presidents are fluent in Russian or Japanese (actually none of them were). So when they mouth on the phone, is there an interpreter on each end? That must be an effortful process, I conceive of. Does anyone cognize where this process is explicated and/or depicted? Thanks!
